Positive: The property is clean and in a very convenient spot to the beach, restaurants and shops. The beach is less than a 10 minute walk. If you’re getting the little bus from Calais port, it is a short walk over the bridge from the holiday in. We made the mistake of getting off to many stops away. Hopefully this will be helpful for future travellers coming from the ferry on the little free bus. :)

Negative: There was no mention prior to our booking of a 15-20 minute walk to collect the keys. You are only told of the location of the key box once you have paid the deposit, which also has no mention of a 300 euro deposit prior to booking. If you are elderly, have mobility issues, with children or arriving very late, this may cause you some distress if you don’t have a car. If it was not for a kind young lady who lived in the block helping us with directions and by google translating the directions for us, it would have taken much longer to find the key box location. In addition to the above, I was quite shocked that we had to empty the trash before we left on our overnight stay. I was wandering aimlessly in the morning, trying to locate where to put the trash out, until I bumped into another lovely lady who lived in the apartment block. She walked with me all the way down the stairs into a dungeon looking basement area and showed me the correct bin space to put the trash into. Additionally, another shocker was when we woke up to a message that we had to return the keys in the morning, and sort the bedding out before leaving. I almost felt like I was working for the owner rather than having a relaxing break. Despite this, I done the gruelling 15-20 min walk there and back in the hot sun whilst my sister waited for me outside the accommodation, as she was unable to walk the distance due to personal circumstances. Please note, we only received the instructions regarding the bedding, the keys and trash when we woke up in the morning. Through no fault of the owner, we did not realise that check in was 5pm prior to booking, therefore we paid the early check in fee through the link sent. We did not receive the money back, although I wrote to the owner stating we had paid for early check in. Maybe the owner did not understand or simply did not care as they responded by repeating check In is 5pm. I am still waiting for my deposit of 300€ to show in my account (5days later).
